I’m familiar with seeing robins all over my front lawn, they are the first real signs of spring, to me anyway. I have this flowering tree about five feet from my front porch and I noticed a robin making a nest as high as he could. I was able to set up my ” little giant ladder” I extend it high enough where it was both safe and allowed me a peek into the nest area, I really wanted to photograph the birds, because now I realize there is a dad who’s got mom’s back, every time mom’s out, dads in, and when mom arrives dad takes off. I was amazed at the tag team coordination of these birds who now don’t really care that there is an aluminum ladder set up with an umbrella, and a camera taking photographs every 2 or 3 minutes. Nikon has this cool intervolometer built-in to not only their DSLRs but also some of the point and shoot models. I’ll keep adding images to this  there is an entire sequence of images showing the progression and growth of this first bird family.

Thanks for listening

Said the Robin to the sparrow, friend, I’d really like to know, why these anxious human beings rush about and hurry so, said the sparrow to the robin, friend, I think that it must be, that they have no heavenly father such as cares for you and me

Since the publication of this post, I have since found that the author of this old poem is not “anonymous”, but seems to be –Elizabeth Cheney  1859 and the poem she wrote was titled “Overheard In An Orchard”.

Ocean City

The sky can put on quite a show just before a storm or on the approach of some crazy weather change. It makes for some good surfing too.

These images happened while I waited for a family to arrive for their portrait.

Nature or Nurture each bringing it’s own brand of magnificent beauty!

Thanks for stopping by.

Martha’s Vineyard

As for me there is no doubt of the Supreme when He demonstrates His presence in this way?

The clouds where dancing on this day.

An old lighthouse deserves an old-style sepia look…timeless.

This beautiful place is home to my good friend, Nicole Friedler, a fab photographer from Martha’s Vineyard.

Sense of spirit, sense of humor, sense of style.
